NWTF Honors Virginia Call Maker Jim Clay

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -(Ammoland.com)- Jim Clay, developer and past president of Perfection Turkey Calls, Inc., recently earned the National Wild Turkey Federation’s Dick Kirby Award, a national honor recognizing Clay for his dedication to the National Wild Turkey Federation.

Clay accepted the award at the 41st annual NWTF Convention and Sport Show in Nashville.

The award is named for turkey hunting legend Dick Kirby, who was the brains and heart behind Quaker Boy Game Calls.

He also was one of the original members of the NWTF, serving nine years on its national board of directors in the 1990s.

The Dick Kirby Award is given to a call maker or company that has made significant contributions to the NWTF and shown dedication to the Save the Habitat. Save the Hunt. initiative.

Clay, a Diamond Life member of the NWTF has been an integral part of the organization almost from its inception, as he was one of the first 100 members on the roster.

Through the years, Jim has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars in products to local and state chapters, and he also has donated his time and other talents to the organization.

“Jim has an incredible history with the NWTF,” said George Thornton, NWTF CEO. “His work on producing quality custom calls, and using those calls to help us fund mission delivery and spread our message is unsurpassed.”

Through this national initiative, the NWTF has committed to raising $1.2 billion to conserve or enhance more than 4 million acres of essential upland wildlife habitat, recruit or reactivate at least 1.5 million hunters and open access to 500,000 acres for hunting, shooting and outdoor enjoyment.
