USA -(Ammoland.com)- Safari Club International (SCI) applauds the U.S. Senate for confirming Representative Ryan Zinke (R-MT) to be the 52nd Secretary of the Interior by a 68 to 31 vote. This is great news for sportsmen and women throughout the country.
Rep. Zinke, an avid sportsman, is devoted to protecting and ensuring our public lands will be available and accessible to future generations.
He understands the important role that outdoor recreation, including hunting and fishing, plays in the conservation of fish and wildlife.
SCI President Larry Higgins stated, “For many years, Secretary Zinke has stood with hunters for greater land access and for wildlife conservation. He has supported and advocated for natural resource policies based on sound science, instead of emotion. As a westerner, Zinke has first-hand knowledge of the need for states to manage their own wildlife resources and to provide adequate opportunities for hunters and anglers. On behalf of the 50,000 members of SCI and the 15.5 million hunters in America, we stand ready to work with Secretary Zinke and we support him as he takes the helm at the Department of the Interior.”
SCI applauds President Trump for his excellent choice of Ryan Zinke for Interior Secretary, the Senate for approving Zinke’s nomination, and Secretary Zinke himself for taking on one of the most important and most challenging jobs of the new Administration.
Hunters once again have an advocate in the person who will lead the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and many other influential executive agencies.
