Two TSA bureaucrats told congress today that their scanners have software that prevents scanner images from being saved or transmitted. Wait, what? Back in November they were saying that the scanners were simply incapable of saving or transmitting the images.
It’s good they finally corrected that lie, but they need to publicly admit it and apologize for it.
This is important because software can be changed. That means the machines can be reprogrammed by TSA, rogue TSA agents or members of the public. That’s not an acceptable risk.
