How to Interpret “Before It’s News” Articles

By Dr. Bob Uda, The Cyber-commentator

8/15/2014

I really do not think that people who post on Before It’s News (BIN) intentionally write “fake” stories.  I believe what they do is write forecasts, theories, prognostications, predictions, possible scenarios, deductive reasoning, estimations, hunches, prophecies, scientific guesses, empirical analyses, statistical reasoning, polling, inductive reasoning, guesses, WAGs, SWAGs, opinion statements, guesstimates, brainstorming, theoretical analyses, and hearsay.  I do not believe posters purposefully post lies.  They post what they believe to be the truth even though they may be incorrect, wrong, misguided, or ignorant.  I think that they are sincere in what they write even though they may be totally out in left field.

The reader must exercise his/her critical thinking skills, logical thinking, and objective analysis using the scientific method, problem solving method, and the decision making process.  The reader must do research on the claims, assertions, statements, promotions, and declarations.  Then, the reader must come to a personal conclusion as to the veracity of the postings.  Many times I ignore or cast aside the posting because it is immediately obvious to be biased, wrong, contradictory, false, inaccurate, prejudiced, illogical, and just feels wrong when I apply the “gut feel” test or the Gutfeld Test (Named after Greg Gutfeld, the genius of Fox News Channel’s “Red Eye.”).

If a reader is unwilling or unable to conduct these analyses of BIN postings, then they should go somewhere else to obtain information.  However, I will tell you this.  No matter where you go for information, you will have problems of inaccuracy, prejudice, bias, hidden agendas, self-promotion, demagoguery, disinformation, misinformation, and distortions.

You must just find the best information you can that you can believe.  If you do not believe it, toss it.  If it turns you off, burn it.  If you think you should obtain only factual, honest information here at BIN, you are kidding yourself.  If you want real facts, go read all of the liberal lame-stream media news.  Listen to CNN and MSNBC.  Read the stuff put out by Move-on.org.  I am being sarcastic and facetious, of course, about all of these left-wing sources.

If you cannot figure out what is good information and what is garbage, how do you know that you get nothing but “fake” information in BIN postings?  You really do not know.  Hence, develop your critical thinking and reasoning skills and, with discernment, glean the good information from every posting that you read.  Even if you agree with a posting, it does not mean that the information therein is accurate and truthful.  You shall be forever confused.  Good luck!

  • Doctor Bob, you’re alright. ‘Bout time someone showed some sense here in distinguishing fantasy from fact. A few grains of salt should be taken and a lot more independent research if something is found to be intriguing. Otherwise, consider most of it to be for getting attention or for entertaining. You can usually tell when the story is going to be for getting attention. It will have a title with “shocking, chilling, or earthshaking” in it.

  • All my weather forecasts are 95% accurate

  • Yep critical thinking is key. Collaborate news sources and plain ol logic!

  • BIN is total fact …. Not …. Are You Serious? … Thank you for the best article I have ever read on BIN …
It was intelligent … Well thought out … And totally false ….. Not

  • The reader must exercise his/her critical thinking skills, logical thinking, and objective analysis using the scientific method, problem solving method, and the decision making process.

The reader must do research on the claims, assertions, statements, promotions, and declarations. Then, the reader must come to a personal conclusion as to the veracity of the postings.

Thats how I Came to the Conclusion BIN is BS.

And speaking of Foxnews, they were sued over a Deacde ago for posting Lies and Changing a Factual and well Researched Article, and a Judge agreed, that News Outlets are not Obligated to Tell the Truth and can also Mislead and Misdirect..so much for the Greg Gutfeld is a Genius Line

  • Your self righteous indignation of other’s work here is telling, Dr. Bob. Perhaps the one who needs to wake up is YOU!

You preach to us as if you’re the almighty himself, telling us to use our critical thinking skills…and then you go on to call a FOX NEWS personality, a genius? i guess they don’t call it “programming” for nothing.

Maybe the good Doctor should have a look at his own cognitive dissonance before proclaiming to be an authority on the psyche of other BiN reader and article writers.

  • Correct on many counts.
But the posters on this site use good thinking skills and they think of scenarios that very well could happen if not already happened with a twist of some elements of intrigue and logic.
Example: Our government does lie and deceive.
Therefore: anything is possible although it seems unlikely. No?

  • Bob, you forgot out right psyops. You mix a little bit of truth, valid mystery and total BS in a manner that paints everyone else with questions that don’t fit the mainstream memes as loonies :)

  • Sir, I feel that’s a pretty broad brush considering this is an open publishing platform. Anyone into this alternative news stuff learns to recognize BS and trollage and outright wackos if they due their own due diligence. I have a few things published here. I source everything so anyone can check it out and decide for themselves. I resent an assumption that I fabricate information. That’s a complete insult to those of us fighting the good fight with few resources and even fewer platforms to get SOMETHING of truth and value through the noise of it all. Each “reporter” or “journalist” has to be vetted just like any mainstream source. That is an individual responsibility, not BIM’s…it is OPEN PUBLISHING. Duh.

In addition… Having trolls post crap and then having their buddy trolls come back and comment smack about it is a long time well known tactic. And real people use their real names if it is important enough to stand up for something. I have said for years, when we get close to the SHTF time, discernment will be our best survival tool. I still stand by that. BIF is a great example, and thank God for it!

  • “I really do not think that people who post on Before It’s News (BIN) intentionally write “fake” stories.”

Are you serious?!!! How do you explain all the videos with headlines that have nothing to do with the entire video? How do you explain liars like the Haggmans claiming that they are attending an Arpaio conference in Florida that will release new info and then we find out there is no conference scheduled again?
You can spend just one day here and I doubt you will come to the same conclusion as this “PHD”.

  • Obama’s the Antichrist.

    All the rest doesn’t matter.

Hurry so as to save yourself fast now or else you’ll not be saved.

  • Lies is indeed a big word. But I agree with your: ”…write forecasts, theories, prognostications, predictions, possible scenarios, deductive reasoning, estimations, hunches, prophecies, scientific guesses, empirical analyses, statistical reasoning, polling, inductive reasoning, guesses, WAGs, SWAGs, opinion statements, guesstimates, brainstorming, theoretical analyses, and hearsay. …

  • >when I apply the “gut feel” test or the Gutfeld Test (Named after Greg Gutfeld, the genius of Fox News Channel’s “Red Eye.”).

PLEASE tell me you were being ironic when you wrote this!

  • The problem is the subjective nature of reasoning. I agree that inference is the best tool for finding the truth except two people may both claim to reason from the same evidence yet still disagree.

An Atheist and a Muslim may both be critical thinkers yet the one who cannot see obvious evidence of design in nature is not reasoning correctly in my opinion.

  • In other words Commentors, F—off. I bring up my point of view on alot of bigfoot post because I would like to believe this creature exist. The stories that show up on not just BIN, but lots of other sites are a joke. So why attack us commentors for calling out obvious junk on here? Is that not exactly what you suggest in your artical? For us to use our brain? I usually get a rebutal, accusing me of being stupid or called out for not being a professional writer. So I guess we are to read your repost and not comment on your obvious lack of caring about what you post or re-post. I read this site because like all of you, I have an interest in cryptozoology and the paranormal. You shouldn’t be preaching to us commenter for do exactly what you suggest.

  • I think of BIN in the same way I think of Pro Wrestling. Sure, it’s ridiculous and fake; but it’s entertaining, and that’s what matters. Some of the goofy crap on this site (as well as some commentators) keeps me grinning, and makes me feel better about being me. At least I’m not them….

  • That’s true for most stories on BIN but you’ll get the same lies on MSM, so what’s the difference?

  • Dr. Bob in spot on and you know it. He’s simply stating a personal opinion. And so are you.

  • Then at least you’re doing better Wundergound Weather. And countless other weather guessers out there. I guess it must be pretty difficult now with the chemtrail weather modifications and the HAARP facilities around the planet altering things at a moments’ notice. I’m half tempted to put one of those rocks out in my yard for weather prediction. You know…the one that if it’s wet, it’s raining, white, snowing… Seriously, thanks for doing better with your forcasts than most.

  • Bang on, I wouldn’t mind if they didn’t have an agenda but their politics shine through in their stories.

  • NewIDTest

Another false, crap article. Like the Kitze article, notice not one mention of the truth. Beforeitsnews is about suckering clicks out of people, ad revenue. That’s it. Of course the lies are on purpose, headlines made to sucker clicks. Why? No comments on this either. Because most of you click robots are too moronic to even understand this obvious truth. It’s all made just for you.

  • I think someone has a mancrush on the president…huh? C’mon…be honest, he’s your bromance…we promise not to tell, KoS.

  • I see twit, that you just don’t get it! Stop spewing that effing garbage everywhere!| Stick to your articles!

  • KoS, weren’t you lamenting the fact that “hecklers” are spamming your articles with non-relevant responses :?:  Looks like the kettle is calling the pot black

  • Ted

Yeah, Sure; but KOS is still totally “Bat Guano”!

  • And a lot of delusional thinking as well….

  • @iamamerican

At least news anchors don’t say they’re GOD, JESUS OR THE MESSIAH (or King of some fantasy land).
