Ukrainian nationalist fighters seized the objects of the Donetsk filtration plant last night. This was stated today by Vice-Commander of the DPR Operational Command, Eduard Basurin.
“Tonight the Ukrainian side, in violation of all the agreements and obligations taken on, captured the Donetsk water filtration plant facilities to conduct fire from its territory at our positions,” he said. “Knowing that our units follow the Minsk Agreements, and do not open fire at objects of life support, the enemy felt its full impunity.”
According to information, during the shelling Ukrainian security forces applied mortars and heavy machine guns. At the same time the fire was also carried from the station’s premises, not only at the positions of the DPR forces, but also at the residential areas of Yasinovataya and Spartak locality.
According to Basurin, the station’s seizure was carried out by fighters of the Ukrainian radical nationalist divisions.
“It can be concluded that the Ukrainian authorities do not control the situation at the moment and cannot ensure the security of Ukrainian citizens,” Vice-Commander omphasized. “In this regard, we urge world leaders… to withdraw nationalists units from ‘ATO’ zone, completing written guarantees of 15 March 2016.”
