Responsibility and Private Property

Published by Charleston Voice Staff Report

An excellent article, but is a little hazy on the question of "obeying a direct military order." A Nazi refusing to do so would have found himself before a firing squad.

Today, in the case of US Army Spc Michael New refusing to wear the UN Blue and serve under a UN Command in obedience to his sworn oath of enlistment to the Constitution, was court-martialed and dishonorably discharged.

Could today's soldiers that have an abhorrence to the killing of Libyan, Iraqi, Afghani or other civilians seek sanctuary for acting "responsibly" in the Conscientious Objector clause? It would seem so to us, but with the Marxist Leon Panetta at DoD, and a Supreme Court not honoring their own individual oaths to defend the Constitution it could be a hazardous route.

Any swap of this band of incumbent subversives for a Neocon regime will just sink America deeper into the swamp. Refusals by our troops en masse, however, would be a different outcome!…
