Will Asteroid “Apophis” Hit Earth in 2029 and 2036? Asteroid Apophis is an asteroid that was discovered by Roy A. Tucker, David J. Tholen, and Fabrizio Bernardi at Kitt Peak Observatory on June 19, 2004. It is about 1,060 feet across and has a diameter of about 855 feet. -The asteroid’s albedo — a measure of its reflectivity — is about 0.23.
-23 percent of the sunlight that falls on the asteroid is reflected. The remaining sunlight is absorbed and heats up the asteroid. Asteroid Apophis What Is Asteroid Apophis? (According to the Herschel Spacecraft’s Observations) The Herschel Spacecraft – On January 9, 2013, Herschel gathered data for 2 hours as Apophis continued on its way to Earth. That day, Apophis was about 9 million miles away from Earth!
- Apophis is expected to make a record-setting close approach to Earth on April 13, 2029.
- It will also make another close approach to Earth in 2036.

The 2012 phenomenon was a range of eschatological beliefs that cataclysmic or transformative events would occur on or around 21 December 2012. This date was regarded as the end-date of a 5,126-year-long cycle in the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, and as such, Mayan festivities to commemorate the date took place on 21 December 2012 in the countries that were part of the Mayan civilization (Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador), with main events at Chichén Itzá in Mexico, and Tikal in Guatemala.
Various astronomical alignments and numerological formulae were proposed as pertaining to this date, all unequivocally rejected by mainstream scholarship. A New Age interpretation held that the date marked the start of a period during which Earth and its inhabitants would undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 21 December 2012 would mark the beginning of a new era. Others suggested that the date marked the end of the world or a similar catastrophe. Scenarios suggested for the end of the world included the arrival of the next solar maximum, an interaction between Earth and the black hole at the center of the galaxy, or Earth’s collision with a planet called Nibiru.
Scholars from various disciplines quickly dismissed predictions of concomitant cataclysmic events as they arose. Professional Mayanist scholars stated that no extant classic Maya accounts forecast impending doom, and that the idea that the Long Count calendar ends in 2012 misrepresented Maya history and culture, while astronomers rejected the various proposed doomsday scenarios as pseudoscience, easily refuted by elementary astronomical observations.
99942 Apophis (/əˈpɒfɪs/, previously known by its provisional designation 2004 MN4) is a near-Earth asteroid that caused a brief period of concern in December 2004 because initial observations indicated a probability of up to 2.7% that it would hit Earth in 2029. Additional observations provided improved predictions that eliminated the possibility of an impact on Earth or the Moon in 2029. However, a possibility remained that during the 2029 close encounter with Earth, Apophis would pass through a gravitational keyhole, a small region no more than about 800 m (half a mile) wide, that would set up a future impact on April 13, 2036. This possibility kept the asteroid at Level 1 on the Torino impact hazard scale until August 2006, when the probability that Apophis would pass through the keyhole was determined to be very small. Apophis broke the record for the highest level on the Torino Scale, being, for only a short time, a level 4, before it was lowered.

Get a Job, bro
That’s 16 years away, who cares? I doubt we’ve got 5 til the SHTF
And that kind of attitude is why the human race is already dead. Who cares about the actual threat we have identified when we have a theory about something else..
Wormwood and The Destroyer star /aka Nibiru are here right now and there is a lot more big rocks closing in on us right now. After 60 million plus babies that have been murdered in mommas womb we need a wake up call. Can anyone think of a good reason why we do not deserve this judgement ?
