Dutch Artist Creates Grotesque Human Sculptures Out of Women’s Stockings

Rosa Verloop is famous for using nude nylon stockings to create distorted sculptures of the human form. The Dutch artist collects thousands of used stockings in various flesh shades. She then molds, tucks, and sews them together to until they take on recognisable shapes. She layers and clumps the material together, sometimes holding them together with pushpins, to produce wrinkled facial features.
