More Needed Rains Move In

Some more needed rain is on the way over the next 36 hours or so. We all should at least pick up a good half to three quarters of an inch come early Saturday. For those of us affected by heavier, slow moving storms, though, a good 2 to 3 inches or more may occur in a short time, which could very well lead to some localized flooding. Keep it here to News 8 & we’ll keep you posted. Either way, the next couple of days will bring us that much closer to ending the moderate drought that we are still officially in as of this morning.
A slow moving cold, soon to be stationary front, will stall close by & allow an intensifying surface low to ride up from the south & west. This will likely trigger some more substantial periods of rain & a few storms from late tonight through Friday night. Temperatures will be pretty close to seasonal levels within a few degrees of 80 through Friday with a good amount of humidity to boot, as the storm will track just off to the west. Later Friday night the storm will push a cold front through clearing us out some, & making for a mainly dry Saturday the way it looks now. The upper level low will clip us later Saturday, & with daytime heating, plenty of moisture in the low levels there will likely be a few scattered showers/storm developing later Saturday, but again I believe there will be a good amount of dry time Saturday. Highs Saturday should hit the mid 70s with a gusty breeze & lower humidity levels blowing in too.
On Sunday, the departing upper level & surface storm will swing a trough through. This will likely ensure a few more showers/storm on Sunday. So while, Sunday will be far from a washout, there will be a few scattered showers/storm that you may have to dodge while taking part in outdoor activities. Highs on Sunday will make the mid 70s or so with a stiff breeze.
