Hurricane Sandy is expected to make landfall tonight in the general area of Atlantic City, NJ. Max winds are reaching 90 MPH, so this is a Cat 1 Hurricane.

 

Storm Surge is expected to be up to 12 feet in some areas. Expect major flooding in the area. Water gauges are already showing moderate to major flooding in the area.

 

Be prepared for Power loss and downed power lines. Remember report all down power lines to the local power company or local authorities; do not go close to down power lines.

 

Red Cross Shelter system in activated and you can find the nearest shelter by texting ‘shelter’ + your zip code to 43362.

 

FEMA and the state Emergency teams are either in place and activated or on their way with relief supplies and needed emergency teams.
