Heavy rainfall lashed most areas of the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday with Police on stand by for any emergency due to the bad weather in Sharjah.
Rainwater flooded dozens of homes in Sharjah. Sharjah Police rescued 30 families in Kalba, Khor Fakkan and Al Madam areas,
The National reported.
Sharjah Civil Defence have urged people not to go outside in the flooded water.
Sharjah Police have closed down the street leading to Wadi Al Hellow. However no serious accidents have been recorded,
Khaleej Times reported quoting Col. Abdulrahman Al Shawaf, Director of patrol and traffic at Sharjah Police.
Flooding rain across UAE
Hailstorm also lashed the Abu Dhabi. Schools have been closed since Wednesday.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology recorded 294 millimetres of rainfall on Wednesday near Al-Ain.
