(Before It's News)

People on both sides of the argument have been quick to rush to judgement on the motivations of Wikileaks’ Julian Assange. Moral crusader or compromised egotist? In a new book about Assange written by the Guardian journalists with whom he worked closely, Assange is quoted as saying that negative cables concerning the United States and Israel were deliberately omitted from initial Wikileaks releases last year to prevent the organization being stereotyped as anti-American.

“We shouldn’t go exposing, for example Israel, during the initial phase….the exposure of these other bad countries (Russia, Arab countries) will set the tone of American public opinion,” Assange is quoted as saying in the book.

  • If anyone takes into consideration the “Assange Litmus Test” used by Les Visible on http://www.smokymirrors... or “visible origami”, it would be interesting to have comments on this. Many different views. To omit Israel-related cables in order to pass more info later on, as Assange says, appears at least doubtful. But sooner or later the “alternate media” should be able to reach some consensus as to the pros and contras involved with Assange and Wikileaks. I don’t know and would thus appreciate any comments from people who do have an opinion and hopefully some deeper knowledge of this case. It has become global after all, this case …..

  • I think Assange has conducted the Wikileaks mission wisely, he would never have had as much exposure for WL or himself if he had gone all ‘gung ho!’ with the stuff on the US and Israel.

What it did do was throw the doors open to the masses where it went mainstream

The attempted defiling of his reputation is TPTB manipulating their legal power to destroy him personally and consequently his organisation.

It is incredible to see how much has been focused on the messenger as opposed to the message or should I say Truth.
Assange has presented actual cables exposing tyranny amongst the world governments. Leaders with whom we thought were enemies have actually been working together to proliferate war and horror.
Our corporate leaders are corrupt and condone illegality, and a government caught surveilling high level members of the UN etc. etc.
He is not selling you his novel, (yet!) he is giving us information that is enabling us to get to the truth as to why humanity is going downhill fast.
The powers that were have tried to dampen the effects of WL on the people… WL and Assange are in the publics consciousness now and the revelations have encouraged many to take action.
This is service to goodness imo
