When Ben Bader of Jesup, Iowa graduated from Iowa State University four years ago, he couldn’t wait to get back to the family farm.
And even as he experiences one of the worst droughts in over 50 years, Bader doesn’t regret the decision.
“When you get into farming, you know there’s going to be years like this, where you might not make money—or even lose money,” Bader says. “As a young farmer, you hate to start out that way—but you know it’s going to happen.”
Bader visited with Brownfield during the recent Iowa Farm Bureau Economic Summit in Ames.
