(Before It's News)

For the first time, rain amounts were above normal in Illinois but crops and livestock had another week of above normal temperatures. As of Sunday, 1 percent of the corn crop was harvested – 81 percent was at the dough stage, well ahead of last year and normal, according to the Illinois office of the National Ag Statistics Service. Seventy-four percent of corn is in poor to very poor condition. At the high end, only four percent of the crop is considered in good condition.

Ninety-seven percent of soybeans are blooming, slightly ahead of last year and average; more than 80 percent of beans are now setting pods. Sixty-two percent of the soybean crop is in poor to very poor shape. A third of the crop is fair, with nine percent good and 1 percent excellent.

Ninety-five percent of pastures are in poor to very poor shape.
