by Steve Meyer (September 23, 2013 – Steve Meyer) Stop Real ID Coalition Constitutional Alliance
Editors Note: Steve Meyer is a Board member of the Constitutional Alliance and Executive Director of the Stop Real ID Coalition (article: Who is Steve Meyer).
Mark Lerner writes most of the articles on the Constitutional Alliance’s website. I am fortunate to have met Mark many years ago as a co-guest on a national talk show where our efforts to oppose mandated biometric enrollment, related technologies, and laws merged. What began with an educational and legislative battle within the confines of the United States swiftly morphed into a global theater of operations encompassing everyone globally.
Mark has been proclaiming, exposing and educating lawmakers, congress, organizations and the lay person on mandated biometric enrollment, related technologies, and laws; receiving the “Freedom Heroes” award in 2010. I've personally seen Mark putting tens of thousands of hours into this effort. In fact, for years I would call Mark at all hours of the day, yes even at 2/3/4 AM and you know what??, he would be wide awake, like me, and we would discuss work.
The article published by CNN proves beyond a doubt that what Mark Lerner has been telling us is true. Although the views expressed in the CNN article oppose the views of the Constitutional Alliance and Mark Lerner, I put my 2 cents in why this is the case, as follows:
CNN embraced a promotional piece by Ger Daly titled “Embracing the police force of the future” which promotes the acceptance of such a future and certainly leans towards Ger Daly's efforts to use CNN for self promotion of their global consulting practice; “Ger Daly is managing director of defense and public safety for Accenture, a company that provides management consulting, technology and outsourcing services in 54 countries” says CNN.
Interestingly, CNN applies the following disclaimer in fine print at the bottom of the article distancing themselves legally from supporting the “embracing of such a future police force”; likely waiting to hear the feedback. Here's the disclaimer: “The views expressed in this commentary are solely those of Ger Daly.”
As Mark often says “You cannot reconcile a surveillance society and a free society”. I think you know where I stand. I agree with Mark. The question is where do you stand? If you agree with the Constitutional Alliance please give generously today.
