Even the “85 mpg non hyrid full size station wagon counterpart – the Jetta TDI blue motion wagon” is not allowed in the USA. WHY? Safety concerns just do not cut it as an excuse. The whole situation is a total racket. This type of technology has existed for decades and it’s clear that other energy interests are involved in the lobby against these paradigm-shifting vehicles. The US isn’t the only country that has issues and things aren’t perfect in Europe, but they seem to be a bit better.
This would literally change energy consumption as we know it. That is 10x more efficient than majority of cars on the road now. It also has the ability to go electric for significant distances. This has to be demanded or it will be many years before anything leaks in.
