Executive action, bypassing congress, is back-burnered until after election
In an acknowledgment of the negative impact his widespread amnesty policies are having on Democrat congressional candidates, Barack Obama, in a hasty response to desperate pleas of vulnerable Democrats, is reneging on his vow to impose the ruinous program by the end of summer. Being on the receiving end of the wrath of illegal aliens and their supporters is less important to the radical leftist than losing control of the U.S. Senate.
In this June 30th speech, filled with bogus claims, Obama pledged to do an end-run around congress and impose amnesty “without further delay.” Obama also requested congress pony up $3.7 billion to implement the disastrous strategy —- earmarked to fund health care, schooling and lawyers for the illegal immigrant children flooding across our southern border. The request was denied. Now he is faced with distressed calls from his formerly complicit Democrats, asking him to back off.
Dem Sens. Mark Begich (Alaska), Kay Hagan, (N.C.), Mary Landrieu (Louisiana), and Mark Pryor (Arkansas), are among those facing tough reelection campaigns.
