As I scroll through my Facebook feed, I notice how many friends, colleagues and students are displaying their new super juices, smoothies and gluten-free recipes. It reminds me that I work in an industry that’s changing rapidly; sometimes for the better – and sometimes it's questionable.

I guarantee you that as you read this article, you can pick out a few people you know who are into the latest fitness trends, fad diets, or buying jars upon jars of organic coconut oil.

All of this led me to the bigger question: “What does true health mean to me?”

Health to me is a balance of physical fitness, proper nutrition and a quiet mind. Here are the three ways I find balance, and tips on how to achieve it.
