With a packed house at Nashville Music City Center, National Rifle Association Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre went on the offensive against the expected presidential candidacy of Hillary Clinton.

As an opening speaker of the gun rights group’s leadership forum that includes many potential Republican candidates such as Bobby Jindal and Ted Cruz, LaPierre made it clear for those attending whom the candidates could face on the Democratic side.

Although Clinton has not formally announced her candidacy, the NRA’s front man turned his speech Friday afternoon into a hard attack on the former first lady and controversial secretary of state.

LaPierre told NRA members in attendance of Clinton that, “She’s been coming after us for decades … trying to dismantle our Second Amendment freedoms.”

“She’s never met a gun control bill she didn’t like.”

Then came the big guns.

Invoking ghosts of campaigns past to include Whitewater and Monica Lewinski, LaPierre moved on to more timely controversies such as Clinton’s mention of dodging sniper fire in Bosnia and dodging Congress on Benghazi.

“Benghazigate, Travelgate, Leinskigate … Hillary Clinton has more gates than a South Texas cattle ranch,” said LaPierre to a cheering crowd that took to their feet.

The NRA’s 144th Annual Meeting and Exhibits runs through Sunday.
