FBI Raided Subway Sandwich Spokesman Jared Fogle’s House for Child Porn

Reuters is reporting that Jared Fogle, the star of Subway restaurant’s healthy eating weight loss campaign for years, had his Zionsville, Indiana home searched by police and FBI today for child pornography.

It was not clear whether Fogle, a father of two, is a target of what authorities have said is a joint investigation by local, state and federal law enforcement officials. Officials declined to comment about the activity at Fogle’s home.

Involved in the investigation are multiple legal agencies including the Indiana State Police/Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the U.S. Postal Service.

Subway issued the following comment:

“We are shocked about the news and believe it is related to a prior investigation of a former Jared Foundation employee. We are very concerned and will be monitoring the situation closely. We don’t have any more details at this point.”

The executive director of Fogle’s foundation Russell Taylor was also arrested on federal child pornography charges just two months ago. Officials found over 400 tapes Taylor had made in his home on computers and via various media. Taylor has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography and seven counts of production.

On a side note, not boding very well for Fogle is his well-known past, which includes running a very lucrative porn rental business out of his dorm room in college that, before the Subway gig, is pretty much what people knew him for.

Well, it turns out in college, the All-American Jared was known for something entirely different. According to our source, while studying at Indiana University, Fogle ran a very successful pornography rental company out of his bedroom. His porn collection was vast and extensive, and Fogle took his business pretty seriously. A video would run a patron a dollar a day (cheap!), and people would come from all over to take advantage of the deal. Needless to say, Jared had enough porn to keep his customers happy.

Fogle has been detained but is not officially charged with any crimes yet.

Still, the jokes have not stopped rolling in from Twitter…
