Donald Trump held a rally in Dallas on Monday, and Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Jake Byrd had the best seat in the house.
On Tuesday’s show, host Jimmy Kimmel announced that he’d sent Byrd — a celebrity-obsessed character played by writer Tony Barbieri — to Dallas with a camera crew. Byrd jumped in on interviews with rally attendees, reading passages from Trump’s book, drinking his signature fragrance, and passing out “Trump stamps.”
“We’re D.T.F.,” Byrd declared during one supporter’s interview, leaning into the microphone.
“That’s right,” she agreed. “We are Donald Trump Forever.”
Byrd then took a premium seat at the rally — close enough to know the truth about Trump’s hair — and cheered along the presidential hopeful, waving a “You’re Hired” sign for emphasis. The biggest takeaway from the event? Trump does a mean Karl Rove.
