Only Remnant FREED from Law of Moses

There are two primary covenants found in the Scriptures. There is the First Covenant, which is based on the law that came by Moses, and there is the NEW Covenant, which came by faith and the Holy Spirit and it’s called The Gospel of Yahshua/Jesus our Messiah.
The fourth chapter of the letter to the Galatians helps us to understand the basic dynamics of both covenants; the Law covenant and the Salvation and righteousness by FAITH covenant. Those under the first covenant are still bound, and those under the NEW covenant are free.
Galatians 4:22-24, … it is written that Abraham had two sons: the one by a BOND woman, the other by a FREE woman. But he who was of the BOND woman was born according to the FLESH, and he of the FREE woman through PROMISE, which things are symbolic. For these are the TWO covenants…
Galatians 4:1-7, “Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father. Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore, you are no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.
Galatians 4:31 …brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.
John 1:17, For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Yahshua ha’Mashiach (Jesus Christ).
Galatians 3:23-25, Before the coming of this FAITH (righteousness by faith in Yahshua/Jesus), we were held in custody under the law, locked up (not free) until the FAITH that was to come would be revealed. So the law was our guardian UNTIL Christ came that we might be justified by FAITH. NOW that this faith (faith in Yahshua/Jesus giving repenters forgiveness, the gifts of righteousness and Holy Spirit presence and power) has come, we are NO LONGER under a guardian.
Romans 8:2, For the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
Hebrews 9:15, For this reason Christ is the mediator of a NEW Covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance—now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant.
Some boast in the law and some boast in Messiah/Christ.
Romans 2:23, You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?
James 2:10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in point, he is guilty of all.
1 Corinthians 1:31, “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”
Galatians 6:14, May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
Philippians 3:3, For it is we who are the circumcision, we who serve Abba/God by HIS SPIRIT, who boast in Messiah Yahshua/Jesus, and who put no confidence in the flesh—
Have you heard and believed the good news called the Gospel of Yahshua/Jesus?
Colossians 2:13-17, then “…you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
2 Corinthians 3:3, Clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the SPIRIT of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
Romans 4, For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the LAW, but through the righteousness of FAITH. For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect: Because the law works wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression. Therefore it is of FAITH, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,
Ephesians 2:15-16, But now in Messiah Yahshua (Christ Jesus) you who sometimes were far off are made near by the blood of Christ. For HE is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having ABOLISHED in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
Romans 6:14, For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are NOT under the law, but under grace.
Sadly, some have and are subverting souls.
Acts 15:24-29, Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, You must be circumcised, and KEEP THE LAW: to whom we gave NO such COMMANDMENT:… For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That you abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
Hebrew 7, For the law made nothing perfect, BUT the bringing in of a BETTER HOPE did by the which WE DRAW NEAR unto God (through Yahshua/Jesus and the gifts he gave us; righteousness and His Holy Spirit).
So, why do we still have and read the laws of Moses? The purpose of Moses law is to help convict the world of sin. The LAW is still in effect for the World: those who have not repented of their sins and who have not received Yahshua as their Lord and Savior so as to receive the gifts of righteousness and His Holy Spirit.
Galatians 3:19, “Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressions UNTIL the Seed (Yahshua/Jesus) to whom the promise referred had come.”
Romans 3, 19-22, “Now we know that what things soever the law says, it says to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and ALL THE WORLD may become guilty before Abba. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But NOW the righteousness of God WITHOUT THE LAW is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”
1 Timothy 1, But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
Knowing this, that the law is NOT made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;
The Law will be in effect until after the Lord pours out His end of the age final Judgments on the lawless, unregenerate and unredeemed who persist in sin and evil rebellion. Revelation 15:5.
So, what LAWS do Yahsua’s followers obey? Those following Yahsuah are now led by the Law of Spirit, Law of Faith, Law of Liberty and the Law of God.
LAW of FAITH
Galatians 3:11, Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”
Romans 3:27, Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? NO: but by the Law of Faith.
LAW of SPIRIT
Galatians 5:18, But if you are led of the Holy Spirit, you are not under the law.
Romans 8:2-4, For the Law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the HOLY SPIRIT.
LAW of LIBERTY
James 1:25, But whoso looks into the perfect Law of Liberty, and continues therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
James 2:12, So speak, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the Law of Liberty.
Galatians 5:13, Only you who “…have been called to liberty…do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh…”
LAW of GOD
Romans 8:7, …the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the Law of God, neither indeed can be.
Romans 7:22, For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
Hebrews 8:10, Written in the minds the hearts of Abba’s New Covenant followers…)
(This is according to the prophecy that Abba would one day write His laws in the hearts and minds of His Spirit-filled followers)
First Covenant Law of Moses is Ministry of Death and Condemnation, NEW Covenant Gospel of Yahshua is Ministry of LIFE and FORGIVENESS; the empowering Ministry of the Holy Spirit!
2 Corinthians 3:5-6 – Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from Abba, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the NEW COVENANT, not of the LETTER but of the Holy Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
2 Corinthians 3:7-18, But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Holy Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of RIGHTEOUSNESS exceeds much more in glory. For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. Therefore, since we have such hope, we use GREAT BOLDNESS of SPEECH— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away. But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is (only) taken away IN Christ. But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a MIRROR the GLORY of the LORD, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. (the law could NOT transform us from glory to glory.. it could not perfect us, or make us Holy.. But Messiah/Christ can and He does!)
1 Corinthians 15:56-58, The sting of death is sin, and the STRENGTH OF SIN IS THE LAW. But thanks be to God, who gives us the VICTORY THROUGH OUR LORD, Yahshua ha’Mashiach/Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the WORK of the Lord (Yahshua), knowing that your labor is not in vain IN THE LORD.
2 Corinthians 4:1-5, Therefore, since we have THIS ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart. But we have renounced the HIDDEN things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. But even if our gospel (GOSPEL OF MESSIAH) is veiled, it is veiled to those who are PERISHING, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the GOSPEL of the glory of Messiah/Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. For we do not preach ourselves, but (we PREACH) Messiah/Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your bondservants for Jesus’ sake.
Some Preach THE GOSPEL of Yahshua/Jesus the MESSIAH, BUT Some preach ANOTHER GOSPEL…
We are warned in1 Timothy 1:7, of those “Desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding NEITHER what they say, NOR whereof they affirm.”
Acts 15:24, Some have troubled you saying, “You must…KEEP the law” —(however, The Apostles)…gave no such commandment—
2 Corinthians 10:12-15, For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise. We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere which God appointed us—a sphere which especially includes you. For we are not overextending ourselves (as though our authority did not extend to you), for it was to you that we came with the GOSPEL of MESSIAH; not boasting of things beyond measure, that is, in other men’s labors, but having hope, that as your faith is increased, But “he who glories, let him glory in the Lord.” (some boast in law, some boast in the Lord) For not he who commends himself is approved, but whom the Lord commends. we shall be greatly enlarged by you in our sphere, to PREACH THE GOSPEL in the regions beyond
you…
Corinthians 11:12-15, But what I do, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity from those who desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we are in the things of which they boast. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of CHRIST. And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of RIGHTEOUSNESS, (promising righteousness through some other way than the Gospel of Messiah/Christ) whose end will be according to their works.
What is the GOSPEL of MESSIAH/Christ?
Acts 13:39, And by him (Yahshua/Jesus) all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could NOT be justified by the law of Moses.
Acts 2:38, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 3:21-22, Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law. But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.
Romans 7:7, …Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, (we) would not have known sin except through the law.
Galatians 3:19, …It was added because of transgressions, UNTILL the Seed should come to whom the PROMISE was made…
Romans 6:15, What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Romans 3:31, Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.

Romans 7:6, Jesus wants us to serve Him …IN THE NEWNESS OF THE SPIRIT and not in the oldness of the letter.

John 8:32 (Now)…you…know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
If you have been redeemed and set free by Jesus the Christ…
Galatians 5:1, Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do NOT be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
Galatians 3:10, Remember, …as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all things which are written in the book of the law, to do them.”
Galatians 5:4, (Those) “…who attempt to be justified by law…have fallen from grace.”
Galatians 2:21, “…if righteousness (came) through the law, then Christ died in vain.”
Romans 9:31-32, DO NOT BE LIKE “…Israel…(who pursued)…the law of righteousness…(but never) attained to the law of righteousness…Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law…they stumbled at that stumbling stone.”
RIGHTEOUSNESS ONLY COMES AS A GIFT FROM YAHSHUA/JESUS. BEWARE OF THOSE CLAIMING TO BE MINISTERS OF THE GOSPEL of CHRIST BUT WHOSE MESSAGE CLAIMS RIGHTEOUSNESS COMES FROM SOME OTHER WAY. YES, YASHUA IS THE ONLY WAY!

PP, I am posting this in hopes it may clarify for you what actually constitutes a contract / Covenant.
I have found over the decades many do not have the basic human understanding of the “physical” that is required before one can understand the things of God i.e. the “Spiritual”.
For instance many do not understand what constitutes a contract or how is it structured and thus can not discern the differences between the Old and the New Covenant much less what the Old Covenant even entailed.
My business life beginning in 1964 and involved contracts and contract law. I am not an attorney; I was in real estate sales and the construction of both residential and commercial properties and in land development i.e. residential subdivisions as the Principle i.e. for my own account.
I have drafted and been involved with thousands of contract of every kind and purpose and have been on both sides of a contract i.e as the Grantee and Grantor. And I have been in lawsuits over contracts.
It has been my experience that the majority of those teaching or even just speaking about the Old or the New Covenants do not know even the basic requirements of a legal contract.
American contract law was established by our Founders and the Founders used the Old Covenant found in the Torah as the legal structure and the basis for America contract law.
The Old and the New Covenants can be understood when viewed in the context of U.S. contract Law.
The Covenants are as follows:
There are at minimum two parties to a contact and in the case of the Old and the New Covenant there are two parties;
THE GRANTOR; GOD.
THE GRANTEE: The children of Israel. i.e. the Houses of Israel and Judah
There must be a “consideration” i.e something the GRANTEE pays, gives or is obligated to perform before a contract can become a legal and binding contract.
Under the Old Covenant The children of Israel agreed and obligated themselves to OBEY the Voice of God in all He commanded them to do: God gave them Laws, Statutes and Judgments and told them they are to be obeyed.
The contract “Consideration” the children of Israel agreed to perform as their contractual obligation can be found in Leviticus 26: 1 -3.
For the “Consideration” freely agreed to by the children of Israel, God then obligated HIMSELF within the terms of the contract to deliver what the Word of God calls “The Promises”.
In a real estate contract the GRANTOR delivers physical land or developed property to the GRANTEE in exchange for money, the consideration, paid by the GRANTEE.
The Promises of God were all physical and can be found in Leviticus 26: 4 – 13. When the Children of Israel obeyed God, God then blessed Israel with physical blessing as described in verses 4 – 13.
In most contracts there are legal penalties or remedies included to enforce adherence to the terms of the contract. If one side does not live up to their contractual obligations the remedies come into play. Under the Old Covenant the penalties or remedies the children of Israel agreed to, can be found in Leviticus 26: 14 – 39.
Verses 14 – 39 are the punishments God is allowed under the terms of the contract to inflict upon Israel to force them back into “contract compliance”. If they refused — after 21 years, God was allowed to take further action over a final 7 year period.
As Paul states in Hebrews 8, the children of Israel did not live up to their contractual obligations, — the Children of Israel were at fault — NOT the LAW.
When Israel refused to repent and return to obey the terms of the contract God was allowed to seek further remedies which He did —and as the final remedy, because Israel refused to obey –GOD sent both the House of Israel and the House of Judah into captivity as allowed under the contract.
Paul quotes Jeremiah 31: 31 – 34 where God explains He will later enter into a new contract — BASED UPON BETTER PROMISES.
The only change from the Old to the New contract, were to the promises of God. Period;
There is no mention of any other changes.
No mention of abolishing the law. No mention that the Law was bad or harsh, no mention the law was the problem. The Law is not in this conversation.
For a contract to be a valid legal and binding contract it must have two parties; there must be a “consideration’ the GRANTEE gives to the GRANTOR and the GRANTOR must have something He turns over to the GRANTEE.
As Paul and Jeremiah both explain the only change to the contract is to the PROMISES of God.
THIS IS THE POINT NO ONE WANTS TO UNDERSTAND AND ACTUALLY THEY REFUSE TO UNDERSTAND.
If obedience to the LAW — were removed— the New Covenant would not be a valid, legal and binding contract as there would be no “consideration”.
Without a “consideration’ due from the House of Israel – THERE IS NO CONTRACT.
The Old Covenant is a physical contract with a physical people with a physical Law and with physical promises.
The New Covenant is a Spiritual Contract with a spiritual people and with a now spiritual law and with Spiritual promises.
The promises of God now include a change to the carnal nature of the children over to the Holy, Righteous, Perfect Divine Nature of God the Father brought about by the indwelling of the Father’s Spirit and upon repentance, forgiveness of sin by the sacrifice of Christ and if we endure until the end – Eternal life.
God is putting in our mind and in our nature HIS TORAH.
In Jeremiah 31: 33 the word “Law” is the Hebrew word TORAH, God is converting our carnal natures to become like HIS Holy Divine nature and that Divine Nature is revealed by God’s Torah.
For Jesus Christ to be become our PASSOVER, for Christ to be accounted SINLESS — Jesus Christ had to obey the Torah — to perfection — and Christ tells those that will follow Him — FOLLOW ME — follow MY perfect Example of living by the TORAH,
When Christ called His Apostles He said to them “Come and follow ME”. Who are you following???
