The NSA data-monitoring program which Binney and his team had developed — codenamed ThinThread — was being aimed not at foreign targets as intended, but at Americans (codenamed as Stellar Wind); destroying privacy here and around the world. Binney voices his call to action for the billions of individuals whose rights are currently being violated.

Here’s some background for you to read about all this surviellance.
The collection programs are the UPSTREAM programs: FAIRVIEW, STORMBREW and BLARNEY. These programs collect and forward to NSA storage all the data on the fiber lines and go into the NSA programs (also attached). This collected is used by law enforcement to arrest people of common crimes inside the US (see NSA and DEA – attached) plus they do a parallel construction to substitute for NSA collection in court. This is a subversion of our judicial system as well.
