Brutal Rapist Chose His Own Fate When He Shouted This At A Judge During Sentencing
Having already been convicted of a particularly heinous crime, Tyler Grogan recently appeared in court to hear how long he would have to spend in prison. The Atlanta-area defendant soon grew weary of Fulton County Superior Court Judge Alford Dempsey’s stern reprimand and erupted with a profane, eight-word interjection.
“I don’t have to listen to this s—t,” he said.
Dempsey, however, begged to differ.
“Well, you’re gonna hear it,” he shot back, “and I don’t give a rat’s behind if you like it or not.”
Following Grogan’s outburst, Dempsey proceeded to hand down the maximum sentence permitted by law: seven life sentences plus 270 years behind bars. Reports indicate the judge decided on the extensive punishment as a direct result of the rude tantrum.
In a last-ditch effort to spare his client, Grogan’s attorney attempted to blame the string of felonies on the death of the defendant’s mother. Dempsey was unconvinced, though, and ruled that the sentencing recommendation remain.
As a result of the decision, reports indicate Grogan’s supporters in the courtroom sparked another protest, defined by friends and family members screaming obscenities at court staff and reporters. When the mob became violent, security personnel had to break up the melee and restrain the instigators.
For the record, Grogan was convicted of a string of violent crimes including robbery, assault, hostage-taking, multiple rapes, and firing a gun at police. Testimony in the case suggested the black man chose his white victims based on his own racial prejudices.
