Following the 2012 attack that killed four Americans at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, many on the right have attempted to determine how such a thing could happen as prominent leftists sought to dismiss any resulting concerns. As congressional investigations into the events of Sept. 11, 2012 continue and the incident remains a hot button issue in the fight against radical Islam, the Democrat National Committee apparently thinks Benghazi is appropriate fodder for a job posting.
DNC staffer Eric Reif quickly learned how unpopular that strategy was when he posted a since-deleted tweet containing a not-so-subtle reference to the attack.

Of course, screenshots of the upsetting post remain; and backlash against it continues to mount after its deletion. In addition to calls for his immediate resignation, many pointed out the difference in how such a remark is handled depending on who makes it.
“Unbelievably stupid,” one user wrote. “A Republican candidate would be hounded about that for weeks.”
Another predicted that a “GOP staffer would be forced to resign” while Reif will “probably get promoted.”
Such is the status quo within the Democrat Party, one commenter asserted.
“If you can’t laugh about Four Dead in Benghazi,” the user wrote, “… you can’t call yourself a Democrat.”
Perhaps the most damning reaction to his comment, however, was a screenshot proving this was not his first attempt to capitalize on the scandal.
Do you think using Benghazi to promote a political party is a despicable tactic? Let us know in the comments section below.
