Watch: Hillary Campaign Caught Breaking Law In This State- Then Laughing About It
The culture of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign is to “break the law, then ask for forgiveness only if you get caught,” Project Veritas Action leader James O’Keefe charged Thursday as he unveiled an undercover video that showed Clinton campaign staff appearing to do just that.
The video shows Clinton’s Nevada staff knowingly breaking the state’s campaign laws and mocking the restrictions the law imposes on their activities.
The video also shows a woman identified as Christina Gupana, a Las Vegas attorney and Hillary for America fellow, telling Clinton’s Nevada staff to “do whatever you can, whatever you can get away with, just do it until you get kicked out.”
The theme of breaking the rules and asking for forgiveness when caught runs through the video, which includes several similar quotes from multiple staffers.
In one part of the video, a man identified as Philip Kim, a paid Hillary for Nevada staffer, is seen telling a woman during a voter registration effort that, “I would say Hillary’s your girl. You should go for a Democrat, but I can’t tell you to do one or the other – that’s not my job, so I’ma let you decide.”
In another scene, campaign workers relate how they were confronted by a Las Vegas library staffer who explained they were violating the law.
“She came out with the Nevada statute books and opens it up and starts reading the statute about how you’re allowed to get voter reg,” said a man identified as Henry Engelstein.
Nevada election law makes it a felony for a field registrar or employee of a voter registration agency to solicit a vote for or against a particular candidate, O’Keefe says in the video’s voiceover narration.
“You should just hide all that stuff,” Gupana is heard saying later in the video.
“The widespread corruption throughout all levels of the Clinton campaign is a disease,” said O’Keefe.
