If You See A Blue Light Bulb On A Porch, There’s A Very Specific Reason Why

(Before It's News)

One of the latest cop killings will certainly call into question the Obama administration’s new directives to release non-violent drug offenders. Western Journalism previously reported how the president used the Justice Department, under the leadership of Eric Holder, to reduce the jail time for drug offenders. In October, thousands of supposed non-violent drug offenders were released and the releasing continues with an estimated 46,000 convicts now eligible for release under the new sentencing guidelines by the United States Sentencing Commission.

What happened in Richmond, Kentucky, on Friday, has the potential of being a foreshadowing of things to come. Raleigh Sizemore Jr., an ex-con who had served only three years of his 10 year sentence for manufacturing meth in his home, was released this year, and now stands accused of killing officer Daniel Ellis, 33, of Richmond, Kentucky.

The murder took place while Officer Ellis was on duty. Ellis was searching for a robbery suspect and the trail led back to an apartment complex. Ellis asked for permission to search the apartment and, upon entering, was reportedly shot in the head by Sizemore. Ellis’ partner returned fire, injuring Sizemore.

Ellis was rushed to the hospital but later died as a result of his injuries. Upon hearing of Ellis’ death, the community was quick to reach out in support of Ellis’ wife and four-year-old son. The local hardware store, Bluegrass Ace Hardware, made an announcement. Starting on Monday and going through Wednesday, the hardware store will give away blue light bulbs for homeowners to place in the fixtures of their front porches. The blue porch lights will serve as a visual reminder of the community’s love and support for Ellis and his family as they mourn the loss of their loved one.

The murder of Officer Ellis serves as a current reminder of what can happen when offenders, who are paroled because they are not considered violent, are released from prison early.

Will Obama’s soft-on-crime approach be responsible for more officer murders as a result of the new sentencing guidelines?
