President Obama’s gun control agenda appears to be having the unintended consequence of boosting gun sales in the United States to record levels.
The Washington Beacon reports that the FBI processed a record number of background checks during the month of October: 1,976,759, which is a 373,290 increase over last year. October also marks the sixth month in a row gun sales have been at record levels. So far in 2015, the bureau has processed 17,584,346 background checks, which it on pace to beat 2013’s record of 21,093,273.
President Obama has made a point, after nearly every major mass shooting incident, to state the need for greater nationwide gun control measures. He did so perhaps most forcefully the night of the Oregon campus shooting, which took place on October 1. “[T]his is something we should politicize,” the president said adding, “This is a political choice that we make to allow this to happen every few months in America.”
Obama pointed to Australia, as an example the United States should follow. That nation adopted strict gun control measures in the 1990s, which resulted in over 600,000 firearms being confiscated from its citizens.
The president promised that every time a mass shooting occurs, he is going make the call for greater gun control measures. “Each time this happens I am going to say that we can actually do something about it, but we’re going to have to change our laws,” he said.

Currently, anyone who seeks to buy a firearm from a licensed gun dealer must undergo a background check. However, individuals who sell, trade or gift firearms to each other privately are not required to perform a check. The majority of weapons are sold through licensed dealers. Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have called for so-called “universal background checks” to require these private transfers be covered, undoubtedly with criminal liability for those who fail to do so.
The National Rifle Association opposes so-called universal background checks because the move would require a national gun registry of all firearms violating Americans’ right to privacy and infringe on their Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. NRA Executive Vice President Wayne LaPierre argues that “All around the world, registration has led to confiscation: Australia, Canada, Bermuda, Cuba, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland. The list goes on.”
“Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are the best gun salespeople on the planet. The more they scream for new gun control laws the more guns walk off the shelves at gun stores,” said Alan Gottlieb, the head of the Second Amendment Foundation. “To quote the lyrics of Peter, Paul and Mary, ‘When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn.’”
Someone behead this lunatic president of ours, please haha. Give him a taste of his own beliefs.

He has to protect his fellow muslims from getting shot by Americans.. How can they possibly invade this country and declare sharia with you people holding guns?
How about background checks for politicians? They sure do a lot more harm than the millions of privately owned guns.
