(Before It's News)

The Republican presidential candidates spoke out about the terrorist attacks which struck Paris yesterday that left more than 125 dead and the world troubled once again by the threat of Islamist terrorism.

Donald Trump tweeted his sympathy and prayers for the victims after the attack and then several hours later addressed the attack again on Twitter.

He tweeted: “President Obama said ‘ISIL continues to shrink’ in an interview just hours before the Paris attack. He is just so bad! CHANGE.”

Trump then added: “We need much tougher, much smarter leadership- and we need it NOW!”

On Saturday, Trump spoke out about the attacks publicly, saying it shows how “insane” it would be for the U.S. to take in a large number of Syrian refugees.

Trump also said: ” When you look at Paris- the toughest gun laws in the world, Paris- nobody had guns but the bad guys. Nobody. Nobody had guns.”

Ben Carson also offered his support, tweeting, “My thoughts and prayers are with the people in Paris tonight.”

He then addressed the movement of Syrian refugees into the United States, the number of which the Obama administration hopes to increase over the next few years.

Carson said: “If we’re going to be bringing 200,000 people over here from that region- if I were one of the leaders of the global jihadist movement, and I didn’t infiltrate that group of people with my people, that would almost be malpractice.”

Carson said that, if he were serving as president, he “would be working with our allies  using every resource known to man in terms of economic resources, in terms of covert resources, overt resources, military resources, things that they don’t know about – resources. In an attempt not to contain them but to eliminate them before they eliminate us. We have to recognize that the global Islamic movement is an existential threat- it’s very different from anything we’ve faced before.”

In a statement, Ted Cruz offered his “deepest condolences” to “our French allies,”  and said that “America must stand with our allies against the scourge of radical Islamic terrorism.” Speaking of Islamist terrorists he stated that “their only goal is to murder those who do not submit to their vicious, totalitarian ideology.”

Mike Huckabee wrote that “we’re dealing with a threat to western civilization.” He offered a four point plan in response  to the attacks, which included instituting an “immediate moratorium on admission to those persons from countries where there is a strong presence of ISIS or al-Qaeda” and for building a multinational coalition consisting of NATO, Russia, and nations of the Middle East to “aggressively destroy ISIS.”

Jeb Bush stated that the attack is part of an “organized attack to destroy Western Civilization” and promised to “take out ISIS.”

Marco Rubio said that the attacks are a “wake up call,” and that “either they win or we win.”

What do you think of the Republicans’ response to the tragic attacks?
