On the heels of another fine debate performance, GOP presidential contender Donald Trump made news of another kind that took the breath away from illegal immigrant supporters when he said that if he became president, he’d create a “deportation force” to ship all illegals home.
As a guest on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Wednesday morning, the real estate mogul said that if he became president he’d move quickly to remove the estimate 12 million illegals in the U.S.
Trump said he’d create a “deportation force” to achieve his goal.
“You’re going to have a deportation force,” he said, “And your going to do it humanly. And you’re going to bring the country — frankly, you have excellent, wonderful people. fantastic people who have been here for a period of time.
“Don’t forget you have millions of people that are waiting on a line to come into this country and come in legally. I always say, ‘the wall.’ We’re going to build the wall and it’s going to be a real deal. There’s going to be a real wall. There was a picture in one of the magazines where they had a wall this tall and they were taking drugs over the wall — they built a ramp and the truck was going up and down. They were using it like a highway, the wall was like a highway. It’s not going to happen. It’s going to be a Trump wall. It going to be a real wall. It’s going to stop people and it’s going to be good.”
Trump then added, “There’s going to be a big, beautiful, nice door. People are going to come in and they are come in legally. We have no choice.”
But he also said that we absolutely need to get a grip on our immigration policies and put a stop to illegal immigrants breaking our laws with such impunity or risk losing the country.
“Otherwise, we don’t have a country. We don’t know how many people. We don’t know if it’s 8 million, 20 million,” he said, citing the case of Kathryn Steinle, the San Francisco woman who died July 1 after being shot by an illegal alien from Mexico who’d been deported from the United States on five previous occasions but returned each time.
“We have no idea how many people are in our country and then you see what happened with Kate in San Francisco. You see what happens with all of the things going on. All of the tremendous crime going on. It cost us $200 billion a year for illegal immigration right now, maybe $250, maybe $300. They don’t even know. We are going to stop it.”
Of course, Trump has incurred the wrath of advocates for illegals with small groups of protesters being an ever-present part of his appearances. In fact, illegals threatened to disrupt Trump’s appearance on Saturday Night Live over the weekend, but no disruptions occurred.
