Eugene, OR – Combined efforts of the U.S. Marshals Service, Lane County Parole & Probation (LCP&P), the Eugene Police Department (EPD), and the Springfield Police Department led to the arrest of Edward Collicott Thursday afternoon in Springfield, Oregon. Collicott was wanted by LCP&P on a violation of parole absconder warrant. Collicott was released from the Oregon Department of Corrections on 9/2/2015 after serving a sentence for (1) felon in possession of a firearm, (2) eluding police, and (3) theft. Collicott failed to report to LCP&P upon his release from prison.

LCP&P, EPD, and the U.S. Marshals began working together to locate Collicott who is known to law enforcement to carry firearms and resist arrest. Thursday morning, U.S. Marshals initiated surveillance at multiple locations in Springfield and obtained information that led U.S. Marshals to the 5700 block of Main Street in Springfield. U.S. Marshals later spotted a man who resembled Collicott drive into the area and walk into a bar. Upon confirming the man was Collicott, U.S. Marshals confronted Collicott and placed him under arrest on his outstanding warrant.

During the arrest, U.S. Marshals located a handgun tucked in Collicott’s waistband and two folding knives and a baggie of meth in Collicott’s pockets. Collicott’s handgun was later determined to be stolen. SPD booked Collicott into the Lane County Jail on his outstanding parole warrant as well as on new charges for (1) carrying a concealed firearm, (2) two counts of felon in possession of a weapon, (3) possession of methamphetamine, and (4) theft by receiving. Additionally, Collicott was booked on an outstanding SPD warrant for driving while license suspended or revoked.
