Who will listen, before God’s justice falls?

(Before It's News)

Tom Hoefling:

For many years now, I’ve made the simple scriptural case against the continuation of the practice of human abortion. God’s absolute command, “you shall not murder” is not that hard to comprehend. But still they won’t listen.

I’ve made the simple, fundamental moral case upon which all decent, just government is predicated. “All men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights,” (starting with the right to life,) remains self-evidently true. But still they won’t listen.

I’ve made the simple, inarguable constitutional case. The stated purpose of the Constitution, the supreme law of our land, is “to secure the Blessings of Liberty to our Posterity.” Pretty simple. And “no person shall be deprived of life without due process of law.” along with “no State shall deprive any person of life without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws,” are so clear and unequivocal that even a lawyer can’t explain them away. But still they won’t listen.

I’ve made the open and shut case that if the supreme God-given equal right of the individual child is not secure, neither are any of their own rights secure. But still they will not listen.

If they no longer have any regard for God, nor for the morality upon which our national claim to self-government in liberty is based, nor for the Constitution, nor even for their own self-interest, or for their own posterity’s survival, frankly I don’t know what else I can possibly do for them.

All that remains is to tremble as we wait for the hammer of divine justice to fall on the heads of this people.

“God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that his justice cannot sleep forever.” – Thomas Jefferson
