After Questions to the Lord Chancellor the main business today is the Children and Social Work Bill. The Bill includes controversial provisions to make the teaching of sex and relationship lessons compulsory. I will be supporting an amendment allowing parents the right to withdraw their children from such lessons. I think this important parental freedom should be preserved.
The other business includes a change to the Standing Orders to allow proceedings in the Welsh Grand Committee to be conducted in Welsh if they wish. This is following an investigation by the Procedure Committee. personally I can see no reason for the change after all these years but has it has no impact on my constituents it is not something I am getting involved with.
