(Before It's News)

Robert Romanowicz has so many beautiful, elaborate paintings in his portfolio but I wanted to focus in on these circus-themed watercolor paintings. Bursting with warm colors, these paintings take place in nature with a clear effort to domesticate these wild beasts for a circus act. In this case, mystical creatures with a thick, shaggy coat are the center of attention, seemingly cooperative toward thier smaller circus trainers. The subject matter of his work is oddly intriguing, causing a double-take reaction. I really love Robert's ability to create so many different textures with the watercolor because it helps to paint a crystal clear picture of the old vintage-style tale that he successfully tells through his paintings.
