Xiaomi has recently unveiled a bunch of products. In the smartphones category the company has revealed the latest Mi Note. This device is packed up with great specifications but Xiaomi has also unveiled a Pro version of the Note, in case there are a few freaks who would find the Note dull and which we are sure there are. It is human tendency, you see, to always crave for more and to be unsatisfied with what he has at present. Anyways, we are not going into a moral discussion here. We are here to lay down the specifications for the Xiaomi’s latest, the Mi Note Pro.
Xiaomi really stuffed the Mi Note Pro with everything it could. Beginning with the display, the Mi Note Pro features a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display. The big splendiferous screen carries a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels. This gives the Mi Note Pro a pixel density of whopping 515 ppi (approx). The size of the screen is same as that of the Mi Note. Also, the displays on both the devices are manufactured by Sharp/JDI. The big screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Xiaomi even provided Gorilla Glass at the back of the device. This definitely gives a more premium look and feel to the Mi Note series.
What makes the Mi Note Pro a true beast when it comes to performance is the latest Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 chipset mated to a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 2 GHz Cortex-A57 CPU. Xiaomi has given the Adreno 430 the duty to handle the graphics on the Mi Note Pro. Playing high graphics games would be a breeze on this device. The Mi Note Pro comes with an internal storage space of 64 GB and this is the only available variant. To keep the Mi Note Pro at the top, Xiaomi decided to keep the less storage space for the Mi Note. There is no micro SD card slot on this device so you will be bound with what is available on board. The Mi Note Pro also gets 4 GB of RAM which will caress the multi tasking. Till now it was the Asus Zenfone 2, which was recently unveiled at the CES 2015, to possess 4 GB of RAM. The phone hasn’t been launched yet and Xiaomi just pushed off the title of ‘World’s first smartphone with 4 GB of RAM’ from its head.
Well, to provide power to support that much of power and display the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro comes with a Li-Ion 3090 mAh battery. That is a big battery but the display on the Mi Note Pro is also great. So, most of the juice will be sucked up to keep that magnificent screen lit and it would drain a lot of battery. Perhaps, it would give a good backup in the Mi Note but we would have to see what it turns out to be in the Note Pro. Xiaomi has also provided fast battery charging capability in this device. It means that the battery on this device will charge up to 60% in 30 min (Quick Charge 2.0) provided you use the company’s charger.
The Mi Note Pro is blessed with a 13MP primary camera which is capable to capture shots with a resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. It is an auto focus camera and is aided by dual LED flash. We are expecting some good picture quality from this shooter but commenting anything now would be too soon. Other features of this camera include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama. On the front there is a 4MP camera to take selfies and it can record 1080p videos. It is a 2 micron pixel size which is identical to the HTC One UltraPixel camera.
The device supports LTE connectivity along with the usual GSM and HSPA networks. It also supports Dual SIM cards, a Micro SIM and a Nano SIM, and OTG. The dimensions of the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro are 155.1 x 77.6 x 7 mm and it weighs only 161g which is quite good for a device of its size. The Gorilla Glass protection both at the front and at the back will provide a great hand held experience to the users. The Xiaomi Mi Note Pro has just been released by the Chinese smartphone manufacture and it is being anticipated to be launched pretty soon. No one expected much from the company when it launched its first device. However, slowly, in fact quite quickly we should say, Xiaomi took the smartphone market by shock and it is now the third largest smartphone maker in the world. The company has made a firm decision to give the major brands of this game a run for their money. It is time now when big brand names should start worrying about it, if they haven’t started yet. Xiamoi will launch the Mi Note Pro at a price of 3,299 Chinese Yuan ($532) or Rs 32,800. We are expecting the sale to be like the usual online flash sale ritual via the e-commerce website Flipkart.
