Motorola Moto X is among the best of smartphones of 2014. It became so popular that the company came out with a second generation model called Moto X 2nd Gen. It was launched at a very high price as compared to its predecessor and hence did not manage to gather a large crowd. Motorola did try to rectify its mistake by announcing a decrease in the price of Moto X 2nd Gen but nothing as planned happened. Now, Motorola has again slashed the price of the second generation Moto X by INR 2000.
On Flipkart, which is the official e-seller of Motorola devices, has listed the Moto X 2nd Gen 16 GB variant at INR 24,999. The 32 GB model is priced at INR 27,999. This is another step from Motorola to attract customers. The 16 GB model of Moto X 2nd Gen (even though still expensive for most of the users) is a good deal to get.
Moto X 2nd Gen comes with a 5.2 inches AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels which produces a pixel density of 424 ppi. The beautiful large and black screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It supports a nano SIM card and is capable of LTE connectivity. Under the panel there is a 2.5 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor which gets support from the Adreno 330 GPU. The Moto X 2nd Gen is available in 16 GB and 32 GB variants with 2 GB of RAM to play with. It has non removable 2300 mAh battery which has a good battery backup.
In the camera department the Moto X 2nd Gen is gifted with a 13 MP rear facing camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash. The front facing camera is a 2 MP unit which can record videos up to 1080p.
The biggest advantage of Motorola devices is the software. It provides almost pure, vanilla Android Experience. The Moto X 2nd Gen is no exception. At the time of the launch it had Android 4.4.4 KitKat out of the box. But Motorola soon provided the Android Lollipop 5.0.2 update. It is also getting ready to roll out the Android 5.1 update as well.
Motorola is working hard to get its thing rolling. Undoubtedly it has gained a large portion of the smartphone market in India, and abroad as, because of its new devices which include Moto G, Moto E and Moto X. The latest offering by the company is the Motorola Droid Turbo.
