Computex 2015 has been rocked with the big bag of gadgets presented by ASUS. And this time around, the renowned smartphone vendor has announced two improved ZenPads with ZenFone Selfie and ZenWatch. Asus ZenPad 8 and ZenPad S8 is the duo of tablets unveiled with a rich set of specifications. With an excellent combo of hardware and software both of these devices promise to be a big hit in the core Tablet industry.
ZenPad 8, the cheaper member of the duo boasts an 8-inch display with a resolution of 11280×800, and has been powered with a 1.2GHz quad-core Intel Atom x3 chipset and one and two gigs of RAM. The device offers a 5MP rear and 2MP front-facing camera, and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the box with Zen UI over the top. The inbuilt storage equipped with this tablet will come in two variants of 8 gigs and 16 gigs. However expandable via microSD is always a choice for users.
On the other hand, ZenPad S8 packs improved specs and a higher display resolution of 2048×1536. The device has been powered by a 2.3 GHz Intel Atom Moorefield chipset, 4GB of RAM and PowerVR G6430 graphics. Its rear camera is an 8MP shooter and front-facing camera is a 5MP shooter.
Connectivity options on ZenPad 8 and ZenPad S8 creates a clear line of distinction. The cheaper brother sports LTE functionality with calling facility while the stronger one is just a Wi-Fi only device. There is also a difference between USB connectivity of the devices. ZenPad 8 supports standard microUSB, and ZenPad S8 supports USB Type-C for better connectivity results.
Both ZenPads pack decent specifications, but their price point will play a big part in determining their real value against MiPad and other tablets. Till date, ASUS has done a terrific job with ZenFones and ZenPads, and now, both of these devices combined with special audio cover for 5.1 surround and 1024 pressure level stylus might bring a winner real soon! If the price goes right, it will be a great deal for Tablet lovers.
