Following a massive line of expectations, Chinese smartphone maker Gionee has launched its flagship handset Elife E8 in the Indian market. The new high-end phone from the company packs an incredible set of specs, and will hit the shelves at Rs. 34,999 via Snapdeal from Monday.

The Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Gionee Elife E8 features a 6-inch quad-HD Super AMOLED display with 490 pixels per inch. It features Amigo 3.1 UI and powers up by an octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 chipset clocked at 2.0 GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM and PowerVR G6200 GPU. The built-in memory packed with this phone 64GB and is further expandable up to a whopping 128GB via micro-SD card.

The biggest highlight of Gionee Elife E8 is its 24-megapixel rear autofocus camera. The main-camera packed with this phone delivers decent image quality under different lighting conditions and can also produce images up to 120-megapixels using the added software. The primary camera also includes a bunch of eye-catchy features such as 6-element lens with sapphire glass, lossless zoon up to 3x, optical image stabilization technology, dual-tone LED flash, and video capturing capabilities up to 4k. Right below the rear camera a “biological fingerprint sensor” is placed, while on the front-panel, an 8-megapixel snapper is placed for taking perfect group selfies.

On the connectivity front, Gionee Elife E8 offers standard connectivity options along with 4G LTE supporting LTE bands deployed in India and Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. The device powers up by a 3520mAh non-removable battery, and support fast-charging as well. Earlier in June, it was launched in the Chinese market at CNY 3,999, alongside the latest member of Marathon line-up Marathon M5.

The Marathon M5 mid-range phone features a 5.5-inch HD AMOLED display powered by Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 2GB of RAM. It packs a 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter, and houses a humongous 6,020mAh battery for non-stop work and play. The Marathon M5 is one of the only few smartphones which pack such a big-battery at a price just below 20k. In China, Marathon M5 has been priced at CNY 2,299, which is approximately Rs. 23,000 in Indian currency. The color variants of both phones are still not detailed by the company.
