Microsoft and Mobikwik partner to Offer Cashback on Lumia Smartphones
According to a recent report, American tech-giant Microsoft has announced its partnership with one of India’s biggest mobile wallet service provider, MobiKwik. With this partnership, the company is offering a hefty cashback of Rs. 3,600 on select Lumia smartphones.
The Cashback offer is primarily applicable for buyers of Lumia 540, but as per the scheme, buyers of Lumia 535, 430, 640, 640XL, and 730 will also get a maximum cashback of up to Rs. 3,600 in their MobiKwik Wallet. The offer is valid for a bunch of Lumia smartphones, and the amount of Rs. 300 will be credited on a monthly basis in user’s MobiKwik account. It will be given over a period of 12 months, and could be redeemed for recharges and bill payments. MobiKwik connects its users with more than 50,000 merchants including some of the leading ecommerce stores in the country.
To recall, Microsoft Lumia 540 sports a 5-inch HD display powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 chip coupled with 1GB RAM and Adreno 302 GPU. The device runs Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim, boasts 8 gigs of inbuilt storage, and is expandable further up to 32GB via micro-SD card. As for camera, it features an 8-megapixel rear camera with 1/4” sensor size, autofocus and LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with support for video capturing capabilities up to 480p. The price of the phone sits just around 10k at online and offline outlets.
Microsoft, as we all know, has grown into a global tech-giant from a standalone PC manufacturer. The company offers award winning hardware products which includes, Lumia smartphones, tablets, Xbox hardware, Surface, Nokia Mobile phones, and other accessories as well.
While, on the other hand, MobiKwik has pushed the boundaries of development, and is dominating as one of the most successful Mobile wallet apps in the country. The payment app connects over 25 Million users with more than 50,000 retailers across the nation, and has recently expanded into Grocery market as well. It offers an excellent ecosystem for domestic bill payments, and targets to power $5B in payments between 150M users and 500,000 retailers. However, this partnership between the two big companies, has given a perfect surprise for Microsoft lovers.
