With a bunch of smartphones in the highly competitive yet lucrative budget market, Micromax has launched a new player to continue its domination comprehensively. The Indian mobile manufacturer has unveiled the second of iteration of its famous budget smartphone Canvas Spark. Micromax Canvas Spark 2 flaunts a classy design language, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and offers 3G capabilities at an enticing price tag of Rs. 3,999. The first flash sale for the device has been scheduled on September 30, with registrations beginning from Wednesday, 10AM.
Micromax Canvas Spark 2 comes with the tagline “India Ka 3G Phone” and offers top-of-the line specs at considering its very competitive price tag. The budget device packs a FWVGA display of 5-inches, and powers up by a quad-core processor clocked at a speed of 1.3GHz. It also boasts a 5-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter and offers 4GB of on-board storage, expandable further up to 32GB via microSD card. The RAM equipped with this device is still not revealed by the company.
On the connectivity front, Spark 2 includes a standard set of options including, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, microUSB, and Bluetooth 4.0. The device packs a bunch of sensors and houses a decent 1800mAh battery promising 300 hours of Standby time. For a phone with running Android 5.1 Lollipop, the entire package looks very impressive at a price just below Rs. 4,000.
With an ideal set of specs, Micromax Canvas Spark 2 will be going straight against the older Android One lineup, running Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with almost identical specifications. Although all Android One smartphones are priced higher than what Micromax is offering, yet they do have the required potential to trouble the Spark 2 with very smooth glitch-free performance.
To recall, all Android One phones featured a 4.5-inch display, and were equipped with a quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor with four cores clocked at 1.3GHz, paired with 1GB RAM and 4GB ROM. They packed an ideal camera setup with a 5MP rear and 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, and housed a decent 1700mAh battery as well. Thus, the new handset smartphone Micromax certainly takes the lead with bigger screen and battery capacity.
