Renowned tech giant Google has started sending out media invites for an event on September 29 in San Francisco. This will company’s first major event after reorganization, and is expected to bring some big surprises in the form of new Nexus smartphones and the new Chromecast dongle. The schedule for this event falls completely in line with an earlier leak suggesting the launch of new LG and Huawei made Nexus smartphones. Plus, a recent report even tipped their names being the LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P.
The invite sent by Google features its new logo, and says, “tasty new treats and much s’more”. Apart from this, nothing comes out from the invite revealing more about what’s coming on September 29.
The rumored Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P smartphones are expected to bring a plethora of features including fingerprint scanning, USB Type-C connectivity and lots more. They’ll be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which offers native support for all these features, and is expected to bring some major upgrades over the previous version, Android 5.0 Lollipop.
As for specs, LG Nexus 5X is expected to showcase a 5.2-inch full-HD display powered by Snapdragon 808 chip paired with 3GB RAM and Adreno 418 GPU. The upgraded device will coming in same storage variants like the original Nexus 5, and is said to boast a 12.3-megapixel rear and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. Also, it will be housing a bigger 2700mAh battery, and will come at a higher price tag; somewhere around $399 for 16GB model and $449 for the 32GB model.
The new Huawei Nexus 6P aka “Bullhead” is said to be bigger and better than Nexus 5X. The big-screen phablet is speculated to sport a 5.7-inch Quad-HD display powered by Snapdragon 810 chip and a 12-megapixel rear and an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. The RAM and battery capabilities of the device are still not confirmed.
Along with Nexus smartphones, the search engine giant will also unveil its latest Chromecast dongle with an improved set of features. According to recent leaks, Google Chromecast will boast a balloon-like design language, and will offer support for faster dual-band Wi-Fi and Spotify, the leading online music-streaming service in the global market.
