This new technology post was sponsored by Wocket Wallet. All opinions are my own.
I sit down to write this post after spending an entire hour looking for my (newly replaced) debit card that was not in my wallet. Again.
I’m a habitual loser of cards, and it’s no wonder. As someone who works from home with two small children, and as someone who collects payment from clients on no less than 5 different cards, I tend to get a bit scatterbrained. I slip my debit card into my pocket instead of my wallet in the checkout lane, leave it on my dashboard after driving through Starbucks, toss it into the laundry while I’m half asleep. An organized wallet just isn’t happening for me.
A growing business and two active, on-the-go kids are good things. Not being able to keep track of something as important as my credit cards? Not so much. And let’s not even talk about the threat of identity theft. Actually, let’s. More and more of us are handling just about everything, including our shopping and finances, online – and that puts our virtual wallet at risk every day.
What I need, and I suspect many of you might need, too, is a new way of doing things. A way to keep my cards safe and streamlined, pocketed and protected, easy to find and at my fingertips. A “smartwallet,” if you will. Well, that idea is more than just an idea. It’s real, and I’ve been using one for a few weeks now…
Wocket is the first and only stand alone smart wallet, completely capable of replacing your entire wallet with a single card. It comes with a sleek stitched leather case, and interchangeable accessories are available, too, because cash and other essentials need a place to be. Worried about security? When asked about information storage and the possibility of skimming, this was the Wocket Team’s response:
“Wocket protects whatever information you store in on a tamper-proof, encrypted chip protected by your biometric voice print. We believe you should have full control over your information, so Wocket will never upload your card data to a server, or store it on an insecure device such as your smartphone.”
I’m on the user end, and I love the ease of use with Wocket. But if you have more technical questions, visit the Wocket website here and click on FAQs. [link]
I know what you might be thinking. What about all those other cards? The loyalty cards, the points cards, the rewards, savings, club membership, freebie and grocery store cards? The Wocket Smart Wallet can handle them all. I hate to think of all the freebies and rewards I don’t get because I just can’t keep up with all those cards and key fobs. Who has the time and energy for that?
Just think of not having that stack in your wallet, but still having them all with you and organized. That’s what the Wocket can do.
Simply create a password to protect your account, then use the card reader attachment to swipe the cards you’d like to enter. The easy touch screen will guide you as to how to organize them, then all you have to do is select the card you want on screen and the removable Wocket Card transmits that card (essentially, turns into that card) and you swipe as usual. You have your entire stack of cards with you at the touch of a screen.
And if you’ve ever dropped that stack at the checkout while juggling 2 squirmy kids, you know exactly how valuable that is.
Put it on your shopping list and your wishlist!
The holidays are coming, and whether you have men’s gifts, tech gifts or even just a gift for yourself on your list, and electronic wallet is something anyone and everyone can use.
