Causes of Global Warming and How to Prevent It
Global warming, is the term used to refer to too much carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide or greenhouse gas plays a significant role to plants as it is required for photosynthesis. But too much is dangerous. Due to excess carbon dioxide it thickens the atmosphere trapping the heat inside the planet resulting to global warming.
Global warming cannot be stopped but it can be prevented from getting worse. Here are some simple tips on how you can help in conserving energy and helping the world to fight climate change.
Conserve Energy
Turn off the lights and unplugged all appliances that are not use. Avoid using the dryer to dry your clothes, instead make use of the sunlight. Iron your clothes once a week to save electricity and effort. By the little efforts you do you’re helping your pocket to save money for other purposes.
Reuse and Recycle
Learn how to reuse and recycle to lessen the non –recyclable waste. This non-recyclable waste was being burned or buried in the ground but it takes hundreds or thousands of years before they totally decomposed. Imagine if you don’t reuse and recycle, you might end up living with all your garbage.
Green Transportation
Cars emits carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides that results to air pollution and increases the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. That’s why environmentalist and the government are keen on persuading the people to minimize the usage of their cars. Through this you’re not only helping the environment, you also help in lessening the traffic.
Plant Trees
Trees used carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, the more trees you plant the more carbon dioxide it absorbs and it will emit oxygen which is what we call fresh air. Everyone wants to live in an environment that have fresh clean air to breathe. That’s why everyone should plant trees too.
Influence
It’s not enough that you know these things. You need to tell others too. You need to educate other people. As the saying goes “two heads are better than one”. Imagine if all the people in the world conserves energy, reuse and recycle, practice green transportation and plant trees, isn’t it nice?
People come and go in this world, but this planet is the only one that remains for 4.5 billion years and counting. If we abuse it, it won’t be long before it will cease to exist. It will become a wasteland with no life form could live. It’s a scary future. That’s why you must help in preventing this to happen. Start today, little by little and turn this world a safer place to live.
According to Frontiers, Solar panels can reduce global warning by converting the heat into solar energy. Here in the Philippines, under the Renewable Energy Act of 2008 the people are beginning to be aware of the importance of conserving power and reducing the effect of global warming.
