Actress Angelina Jolie revealed that she has removed her ovaries and fallopian tubes to prevent cancer. This follows her preventive surgery in 2013 of a double mastectomy; Jolie revealed that she carried a mutation of her BRCA1 gene that gave her an estimated 87 per cent risk of breast cancer and a 50 per cent risk of ovarian cancer. She still has her uterus, adding that uterine cancer does not run in her family.
