Goswami told, the shoe hurled at Rahul missed and fell 10 meters short of him. The Police have arrested the man who threw the shoe.
The attacker shouted a slogan about black money and threw the shoe, provoking Rahul to first say ‘Thank You’ and then challenged him to “Throw another shoe”.
The youth identified as Kuldeep, son of Hari Singh. He runs a small shop in Khera Pachhwas and wanted Amethi MP to speak about black money and the several scams at the Centre.
Rahul Gandhi told, “If some people think that throwing a shoe will deter me and force me to run away, they are mistaken. Rahul Gandhi will not run away.” He also said that such attacks would not deter him.
This was the second shoe attack that took place in Dehradun. On 21st Jan, Team Anna member Arvind Kejriwal was also hurled by a man at a public meeting. The shoe was thrown when Kejriwal was on his way to the stage. The attacker was beaten by the police.
