Aamir Khan’s Talaash, where he plays a cop, is being touted as one of the most-anticipated films of 2012. Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji also star in the psychological-thriller.
Any Aamir Khan film is always highly anticipated. After all he is one star who has emerged as the biggest game changer for Bollywood in last 10 years.
Hence with ‘Talaash’ Aamir Khan seems to have hit a record yet again. It has surpassed King Khan’s Don 2 by a margin of Rs 10 crore, the theatrical rights of Talaash co-starring Kareena Kapoor and Rani, has been sold for Rs 90 crore to Reliance .
Amod Mehra the Bollywood Trade analyst feels that the amount is not too surprising. “I think it’s a reasonable amount,” said Mehra.
Co-written by Zoya Akhtar and Reema, Talaash is being made within a budget of Rs 40 crore and its satellite rights have already been sold for Rs 40 crore.
Thus it means that ‘Talaash’ is into profit much before it release and the additional revenue of ticket sale will be a bonus which will lead to re-creating box office history.
Talaash is a suspense thriller with Aamir in totally new Avtaar. Fans enjoyed pair of Aamir and Kareena in 3 Idiots and his chemistry with Rani in Ghulam was electrifying, so to see them together in a film will be a visual treat for the fans.
Will it create a box office history? Better left for the audience to decide.
