Science communicator Mr. R.D. Sharma passed away
Seventy three year old Science communicator, Mr. R.D.Sharma, had passed away, He was a former media consultant at the India office of International Rice Research Institute, he was known for his perceptive writings on different aspects of science for the benefit of the lay public.
Mr. R.D.Sharma was the winner of Indira Gandhi Prize for Popularisation of Science from Indian National Science Academy and he had also anchored, directed, produced and scripted more than 500 television programmes.
A retired senior officer of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, Mr. R.D.Sharma also had a stint as a Medical Consultant at the India office of the International Rice Research Institute.Sources from his family had said that, his body will be donated to the Army medical college for the research purposes, as per his last wish.
