- Spring Happy Hour Meet & Greet – Thursday, May 2, 6-9 pm: Your DC Area NIAC Ambassadors Kahlill Palmer and Niloofar Bagheri Jebelli cordially invite you for a NIAC Happy Hour atBeacon Bar and Grill (1615 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC. Come mingle with friends, meet fellow NIAC members, and learn how to join NIAC DC Metropolitan Area’s upcoming events. Join local NIAC staff & members in the DC area. - Community Organizing Training – Thursday, May 9, 6:30-8pm:What does it mean to build sustained grassroots political influence? How can Iranian Americans channel their personal and professional talents into becoming more effective in public life? NIAC Community Outreach Director Yasmin Radjy will lead an interactive discussion and training session at Georgetown Neighborhood Library‘s GEO Meeting Room (3260 R St. N.W., Washington, DC 20007). Yasmin will draw from core organizing principles and experiences she learned from having worked as a Field Organizer for the 2008 Ohio Barack Obama Campaign and as a Community Organizer for the Industrial Areas Foundation, the nation’s oldest organizing network, in Iowa and Texas.
