The US Senate Ethics Committee on Wednesday approved the appointment of Ivanka Trump, daughter of President Donald Trump, as an adviser at the White House. She stated during the committee hearing that she will not receive a salary for the job and that she has not given up ownership of her clothing businesses, which she said have no connection to the government post. The president's daughter, who converted to Judaism in 2009, follows an orthodox Jewish lifestyle with her family. Ivanka's husband Jared Kushner also serves an an unpaid White House adviser.
