[Cheap energy] Tepco to pay 1.6 trillion yen for compensation by the end of December 2012
On 11/27/2012, Tepco announced they are going to pay about 1.6 trillion yen of compensation by the end of December.
It is not known who to receive the compensation.
On 8/29/2012, Fukushima Diary reported Tepco paid only 30,000 yen for 200 million yen of compensation claim. [Link]

Financial Support from the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund
Today, we received 93.2 billion yen from the Nuclear Damage Liability Facilitation Fund (hereafter the Fund) based on the revised Special Business Plan approved on May 9, 2012.
This financial support was given in response to our tenth request made in order to cover the compensation payouts to be completed by the end of December, as the sum of the compensation received in accordance with the “Act on Contract for Indemnification of Nuclear Damage Compensation” (120 billion yen) and the financial support provided by the Fund (1.3763 trillion yen) will not be sufficient for the total amount of payout.
With the financial support received from the Fund, we will continue our utmost efforts in implementing the “compensation payouts with courtesy and compassion” in consideration of those afflicted by the nuclear damage.

当社は、本日、原子力損害賠償支援機構（以下、機構）より、平成24年５月９日に変更の認定を受けた特別事業計画に基づき、932億円の資金の交付を受けましたのでお知らせいたします。
当社は、原子力損害賠償補償契約に関する法律の規定による補償金として1,200億円、また、機構からの資金交付としてこれまでに１兆3,763億円を受領しておりましたが、12月末までにお支払いする賠償額が、これらの金額の合計を上回る見込みであることを踏まえ、第10回目の資金交付を要請していたものです。
当社といたしましては、機構からの資金援助を受けながら、原子力事故の被害に遭われた方々の立場に寄り添った親身・親切な賠償を実現してまいります。

Soutien financier du Fond pour la facilitation de la responsabilité des dégâts nucléaires
Aujourd’hui, nous avons reçu 93,2 milliards de yens du Fond pour la facilitation de la responsabilité des dégâts nucléaires (ci-après le Fonds) sur la base du plan d’affaires spécial révisé qui a été approuvé le 9 mai 2012.
Ce soutien financier a été fourni en réponse à nos dizaines de demandes faites afin de couvrir les paiements d’indemnisation à accomplir avant fin décembre, car la somme des compensations reçues conformément à la “loi sur les contrats de couverture d’indemnisation de réparation des dommages nucléaires” (120 milliards de yens) et le soutien financier apporté par le Fonds (1,3763 trilliards de yens) ne seront pas suffisants pour couvrir l’ensemble des indemnisations à payer.
Avec le soutien financier du Fonds, nous continuerons nos efforts pour la mise en œuvre des «paiements de compensation avec courtoisie et compassion” pour les personnes touchées par les dégâts nucléaires.
